He worried David's bike wouldn't make it? That showed how much he knew...both about David's bike and about David himself. He grinned at Ash and revved the bike. It looked old, but the engine still sounded good. "It'll make it. And if it doesn't? Then you're really gonna have trouble keeping up."
He turned the bike and sped off into traffic. David navigated New York City streets like he was unafraid of his or anyone else's mortality. He split lanes inches from cars and buses, riding up onto the sidewalk at times to avoid waiting, keeping up a breakneck speed that required at least some of his vampiric ability to keep the bike upright and out of danger. To onlookers, he just looked like a reckless kid. Doubly reckless, when he veered out of the road portion of the bridge across the river at the last second and took what was probably at one point a narrow walkway for bridge workers, instead. It was wide enough for him and the bike, but just barely. If he so much as sneezed, he'd go over into the water. Good thing he was undead, then.
David let out a whoop! "Fun, huh? Makes Santa Carla look like a backwater by comparison!"
